09 · AutoCAD Desktop Lesson 2: Add and Resize a Through Hole
Continue the 100 × 30 × 5 mm plate exercise in AutoCAD Desktop. Start with a blank Lesson 1 plate and use CYLINDER and SUBTRACT to create a Ø6 mm through hole at X15, Y15, or begin with the verified Ø6 mm practice copy. If starting from the verified D6 copy, skip cylinder creation and SUBTRACT and begin at worksheet step 6. Enlarge the existing hole to Ø8 mm using SOLIDEDIT → Face → Offset with a value of −1. Save, close and reopen the drawing, then check that it remains one valid solid with unchanged outer dimensions. This five-minute beginner lesson uses short application clips, labelled replays and stills, with English narration. The exercise uses Civil 3D 2027; your interface may differ. Practise in a separate training file, not a live project. Practice worksheet v05 download is being prepared and is not yet available on this page. Audio note: three narration/caption phrases still await listening review at 00:15.410–00:18.410, 00:58.237–01:02.237 and 04:45.653–04:50.733. Technical checks do not establish a human listening pass.
